Gerald V. Cerdan, DMD

Dr. Cerdan was born in the Philippines and moved to Lake Butler, Florida when he was 8 years old. He was the valedictorian of his class at Union County High School where he was very active in music and tennis. One of his fondest high school memories is achieving a seat as the principal percussion chair during both his junior and senior years in the Florida All-State Symphonic Band and the Florida All-State Orchestra.  An avid Gator, he graduated from the University of Florida in 1998 with high honors, earning his bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Cell Science along with a minor in Chemistry.

Dr. Cerdan attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was inducted as a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society, an academic fraternity for the top 10 graduates of his class. As a dental student, he was especially passionate about prosthetic dentistry (crown and bridge) and completed many cases beyond the necessary requirements to graduate. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2003 and practiced in Southwest Florida before moving to Winter Haven in 2007.

Dr. Cerdan is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Spear Education Study Club, and the Polk County Dental Association. Because of his love for dentistry, Dr. Cerdan enjoys staying current with the latest techniques and materials. He also loves serving the community with the Winter Haven Rotary, the Angels Care Center of Eloise, and as a den leader for Troop 505 of the Boy Scouts of America.  Dr. Cerdan and his “dental school sweetheart,” Dr. Gianna M. DeSimone, enjoy traveling, raising chickens, and spending time with their three sons and daughter.

Dr. Gianna DeSimone

Dr. Gianna DeSimone graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2003.    She completed her undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Biology at Temple University.  She has experience in both pediatric and general dentistry in private and public health settings since 2003. She was a University of Florida Adjunct Faculty Member at the CHSI Community Health Site in Naples.  She has also served as a member of Affiliate Advisory Committee as the Southeastern States Representative for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. DeSimone brings a wealth of expertise in dentistry and business to her administrative role at Winter Haven Family and Cosmetic Dentistry as the Chief Operations Officer. Having a strong foundation in oral health care and patient relations, Dr. DeSimone ensures the seamless operation of the office, focusing on delivering unparalleled service and a superior patient experience. Together with her husband, Dr. Gerald Cerdan, their dedication to precision and commitment to excellence sets the standard for the team, creating a foundation for top-tier dental care.    Dr. DeSimone is passionate about travel and has enjoyed volunteering and providing dental care to the underserved communities in Peru and Ecuador. When she is not working, as a lacrosse and karate mom she stays busy with her three sons and daughter.  She loves to travel and  making homemade pasta from the fresh eggs from their chicken farm.

Dr. Farah Habib 

Dr. Farah Habib is one of the dentists at Winter Haven Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and joined the practice in 2018. Dr. Habib pursued her undergraduate degree at theUniversity of Miami in Coral Gables, FL and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science. She continued her education and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from NovaSoutheastern University in Davie, FL.

Dr. Habib loves the many facets of dentistry, but she most enjoys getting to know her patients. To her, the heart of patient care is taking a personalized approach because each patient and their smile is special. Whether a patient’s concern is cosmetic, restorative, or a dental emergency, Dr. Habib creates a genuine connection with her patients and provides them with the excellent, individualized care they need.

Dr. Habib is a Florida native! She lived the majority of her life in South Florida until she moved to Lakeland, FL in 2017. She enjoys spending her time with her two sons and husband who is an Endodontist in Winter Haven, FL. She also enjoys cooking, baking and spending time outdoors with her family.

What to Expect for Your Visit

We’ve worked hard to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. When you first visit Winter Haven Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, you’ll notice that each member of our team loves what they do, especially when it comes to interacting with patients. You’ll be greeted by Kristy and Karen, who will answer any of your questions prior to your appointment.

Once you’ve checked in and completed any new patient forms, you’ll be taken back to our operatories, where our hygienists and doctors will be ready for you. No matter what treatment you’re receiving, you’ll always have time to share any questions or concerns with your doctor. After this, you’ll be given the option to schedule any follow-up appointments, and we’ll send you on your way to change the world with your smile!

Our operatories are equipped with some of the best cutting-edge technology modern dentistry has to offer. With tools like Isolite, CEREC same day crowns, Sirona scanners, CBCT, and Zoom whitening, we’re ready to provide successful treatment for all types of dental needs! 

Not only do we ensure excellent treatment, but our office is comfortable and relaxing, too! We have complimentary beverages, warm blankets, and more to promote your relaxation and overall well-being.

Our office was designed to make our guests feel comfortable and relaxed as soon as you enter our doors. We chose pops of cool and inviting colors that will bring the relaxing waters and palm trees of the world’s finest beaches to you. Our waiting area also has a tortoise cove for your viewing pleasure.  Come meet our resident tortoises while you wait!
